Meerut sugar mill manager stoned to death by friend as revenge for 'slap'
A manager of Meerut’s Daurala Sugar Mill was allegedly stoned to death by his friend as vengeance for a slap, the manager’s dead body was recovered in a field in Loiya village on Wednesday.
The manager was murdered on Tuesday. Cops have now taken the friend of the victim identified as Prempal into their custody, Police said. The accused has admitted to have committed the murder in an inebriated state to take 'revenge' for a slap.
The victim has been identified as Ajay Kumar, a native of Mundera village in Ambedkar Nagar district. He worked as loading supervisor in Daurala mill.
The victim was living with his wife and three children in a rented house at Bangla Colony in front of Daurala police station.
The family of the victim said he went out of the house for some work but never came back. His corpse was found in a field the next day. His head appeared to have been squashed by brick. Locals in the area also suspect that he was also shot.
Later the villager alerted the police about the body. The cops identified the victim through his ID Card and mobile phone. CO Daurala Ashish Sharma also arrived at the spot with the forensics team.
A case has been registered on the basis of a complaint filed by victim's wife.
During investigation, police found that Ajay was along with his friend Prempal at his residence in Akansha Colony. The duo drank liquor at a liquor vend. Since Ajay was last seen with Prempal, police interrogated the suspect.
According to police, the duo were on a bike and both fell from it following an accident on Tuesday. Ajay then allegedly slapped Prempal and abused him for not riding the bike cautiously. Vexed over this, Prempal hit Ajay with a brick and ran away from the spot. Ajay lost his life on the spot.
