Meerut: 14-year-old girl kills self-due to harassment; police says different story
A shocking incident was reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut where a 14-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide. The girl who was studying in class 8th consumed poison because she was being harassed by 3 youths constantly.
As per TOI, the girl was cremated on the same day i.e. Monday when she died of suicide, and since then her family maintained that harassment prompted the girl to take such big and drastic step. However, the local police offered a different version to the suicide on Wednesday. They said that the girl was in a relationship with one of the accused and was embarrassed after a few youths saw them meeting behind the school on Saturday morning and this embarrassment took her life.
But, based on a complaint filed by the girl’s parents, Bulandshahr police have booked the 3 youths under Section 304, Section 354 of IPC and POCSO Act. Her father requested police to initiate an inquiry into the matter.

As per local police, they claimed that the girl was involved with one of the accused and her father knew it and he didn’t approve of it. SSP of Bulandshahr also added that the girl had ‘good relations’ with one of the accused because during the probe they found that the girl had made 845 calls on the phone of the boy. She also sent her 365 messages.
Further, the probe revealed that both the families were against the relationship. “The trigger of suicide appears to be an incident on Saturday morning when some youths spotted them meeting behind a local school. The youths returned to the village and told it to everyone,” the police officer added.
