Man pushes minor son from bridge for liking his new step father

In an extremely shocking incident of crime brought to light from Gujarat, a man allegedly pushed his son from the Makkai bridge in the Nanpura area on 31st October and concocted a false story in order to lead astray the investigation. Reportedly, the man, aged 31 told the cops that his son fell from the bridge while taking a selfie on his mobile phone.

The accused has been identified as Saeed Shaikh. On the day of the crime, the man and his 12-year-old son, identified as Zakir Shaikh went to the bridge. Later, Saeed cried for help saying that his son fell into the river. Following this, the locals notified the police and fire department.

The fire official retrieved the minor boy's dead body and handed it over to the Rander police. Saeed told police that Zakir fell down while sitting on the railing of the bridge and taking a selfie. Rander police filed a case of accidental death and initiated a probe.

In his statement, the man said that he was separated from his wife, identified as Hina alias Parveen Shaikh and had two kids named Sakir and Zakir. Hina was living with her parents in Maharashtra’s Buldhana district with Zakir while Sakir was staying with the man in Kosad. When police called Hina, she expressed concern that her husband might have murdered their son, The Indian Express reported.

Earlier on Tuesday, Hina registered a case of murder against Saeed. The police then questioned Saeed again and he cracked up. He confessed to pushing his son from the bridge. He was taken into police custody on Wednesday.

As stated by Inspector HS Chauhan of Rander police station, “Saeed later told us that after getting separated, Hina was in a relationship with another man. Zakir apparently told Saeed that he liked his ‘new abbu’, which irked him. In October, Saeed went to Hina and told her to accompany him back to Surat but she declined. Saeed then forcefully took Zakir with him after emotionally blackmailing Hina, and cooked up a story after killing the boy. We have arrested Saeed and further investigation is underway. "
