Man kills married cousin before killing self for a shocking reason

A 24-year old man allegedly shot his married cousin and later killed himself on Sunday. The man killed his cousin as he was allegedly in love with her.

Meanwhile, the condition of the woman is said to be critical and she is on ventilator support after a bullet hit her head. On the other hand, the man died on the spot.

The incident took place at Devkinandanpura village under the Shivadspura police station area of the city in Rajasthan.

According to The Times of India, the accused identified as Ghanshyam Meena called his married cousin Priyanka (22) at 7:45 pm on Sunday. According to the statement given by eyewitnesses, they were speaking to each other and all of sudden, Ghanshyam took out a country-made pistol and shot her point-blank on the head. After shooting at her, he shot himself and died on the spot, additional DCP (south) Avnish Sharma told TOI.

According to Sharma, the condition of the woman is very critical. She was admitted to a private hospital in Pratap Nagar.

The cops were alerted by the villagers about the incident. Senior police officers, including deputy commissioner of police (south) Harendra Mahawar, rushed to the spot with a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the now-deceased man was in love with his cousin and he was allegedly harassing her by calling her on the mobile. According to the TOI report, a few days ago, the woman had come to her parental house.

According to police, the parents of both the accused and the victim also knew about the matter.

It was a one-sided love and Ghanshyam was troubling the woman. His family members had earlier ensured that he would not trouble her and later, she got married, an officer told.

Meanwhile, the woman’s condition is not good and she would be operated on this Monday.
