Man gets wife gang-raped by friends after she fails to give dowry

In yet another appalling incident brought to light from Rajasthan’s Dholpur district, a 23-year-old woman has alleged that she had been gang-raped by several men in the instruction of her husband after she was not able to meet the dowry demands of her in-laws.

The victim has now registered a police compliant at Baseri police station in Rajasthan’s Dholpur district. The woman in her compliant said that her husband brought a man home in order to rape her on Saturday.

Then on Sunday again, another individual came to the house in order to rape her. The victim alleged her husband abd other accused put chili in her private parts, as maintained by a report in Times of India.

The rape survivor was rescued by her parents after the came to Dholpur. An FIR was registered under section 371D (gang-rape) at Baseri police station.

"The victim got married to the man around five months ago. The woman alleged that her husband and in-laws were pressurising her for more dowry. Her husband then sent other men to rape her," the report quoted Deputy SP Parvendra Singh as saying. 

The woman was sent for medical and a case was lodged. According to police, the woman’s husband and his family ran away from their home when they learnt that she has lodged a case.

According to the woman, her in-laws began torturing her soon following the marriage. "When the woman's family failed to pay more in dowry, her husband started sending men to rape her," said an officer.

Police said they are making every efforts to trace and nab the accused. The probe in the case has been handed over to DSP rank officer.
