Maharashtra man murders cousin after arguing over headphones

In an appalling case of murder reported from Maharashtra's Akola, a 24-year-old man allegedly murdered his cousin on Saturday following an altercation over a headphone. Police said.

Rishikesh Yadav and his cousin Neha, aged 20, native of Madhav Nagar on Gorakshan Road, fought over a headphone and the latter attacked her using a sharp edged weapon, an official in the Khadan police station said.


"The incident occurred at around 5pm. Rishikesh has been taken into police custody for murdering his cousin. Further investigation has started and is in progress to find out if there were any other motives that led to the killing," he added.

In another incident that came to light from Maharashtra’s Thane district, a 14-year-old boy was killed by two youths, which includes an under aged boy. Both accused have been arrested, police said, further adding that robbery was the motive behind the crime.

The teenager victim was identified as Soham Bajage, a resident of Thane’s Sai Ram colony. The victim went mising on Wednesday, following which his family lodged a police compliant.

Acting upon the compliant, the police started a search operation for the victim. They found the teen’s dead body lying in an empty flat of the building where he lived. After this, a case of murder was filed and a three-member team was set-up to carry out investigations, The Times of India TOI reported.

The cops interrogated the individuals who had last seen the deceased and zeroed up Akshay Waghmare, aged 24 and a 17-year-old boy (name withheld). The duo, during investigation gave different versions. Later, they were subjected to interrogation and an actual story of the crime was revealed.

The two accused confessed to have killed the teenager for robbing his gold chain. According to cops on Wednesday, the accused took the boy to an empty flat, where they allegedly stranggled him using a rope. After that, the accused fled taking away one and a half tola gold chain.
