Maharashtra: Girl 'unprepared' for board exam, dies after consuming pesticide
Student’s life is not as easy as it looks because of a lot of challenges in their academic life. During the board exam, students get so scared that they unable to face the examination and even decided to end their life. A shocking incident has come to light where Class 10th girl died after consuming pesticide ahead of her board exam.
However, her teacher helped her in giving the poisonous substance. Police have arrested a teacher for his alleged involvement in the matter. She was the student at a private school in Shirol Taluka’s Shirti village.
The girl died on Tuesday due to the poison, media reports claimed. The deceased has been identified as Sanika Mali who got pesticides by her teacher named Nilesh Balu Pradhane, a resident in Ajara Taluka.
According to the reports, Sanika was not prepared for the exam and hence, she decided to skip the exam by falling ill. Therefore, she mixed the poisonous liquid with water and consumed it in a bid to fall sick.
During the interrogation, the teacher confessed to the crime and said that he gave the pesticide to the student.
Nilesh has been booked under Section 304 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and Section 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc with intent to commit an offence) of the Indian Penal Code. He has been remanded in police custody till March 6 on the orders of a court.
The girl fell ill on February 20 when she went to the school for appearing in a practical examination and then, she complained of discomfort. After which Sanika immediately rushed to a private hospital. She died on February 25 during her treatment in the hospital.
