Kerala man entices woman on pretext of offering her job; rapes, blackmails her
In a shocking incident reported from Kerala, a man allegedly enticed a woman on the pretext of offering her a job and raped her. The accused didn’t stop here, he allegedly blackmailed the woman using unsuitable images he had taken of the victim.
The accused, identified as Renjith Chandran was a native of Thara Nivas, Manava Nagar at Palkulangara, Kerala, the accused had introduced himself as Harilal – a lawyer practising in the high court.
The accused had put out a phoney advertisement for a job online and the victim responded to it. The accused had allegedly to the victim that he was going to start a company named Ambuja Homes and Constructions in cooperation with his brother-in-law and said that he would be managing the venture.
According to a report by The Times of India, the accused accumulated the personal data of the victim, which included her address, phone number and then kept watch on her activities. On 11th May, the accused went to the woman's house after making sure that her husband was not at home and allegedly raped her.
The victim allege that the accused clicked obscene pictures of her and used them to blackmail her. He allegedly forced the woman to do video calls and meet his sexual demands. The accused allegedly threatened to share the images on the internet if she failed to agree.
Later, the woman took help from the cops and got him arrested within two days. The police also confiscated the accused man's mobile phone. The investigation disclosed that the accused had misled the woman regarding his profession.
