Kerala horror: Minor girls sexually abused in convent hostel; three held
In a recent development coming in from Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram, three men from the Valiyathura area were taken into police custody for sexually abusing three minor girls at a convent hostel. Police said that the accused jumped over the compound wall to enter the rooms where the girls lived. They gave alcohol to the girls before sexually abusing them.
The three accused, identified as Merson, Arun and Renjith were taken into custody by Kadinamkulam Police. They have been booked under the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The cops had noticed two men trespassing into the convent hostel while they were patrolling on Wednesday, August 24. The crime came to light when police took them into custody and questioned them. The accused were nabbed on the basis of the statement recorded by the victims.
Officials are investigating the possibility of more people being involved in the crime.
According to the police, one of the accused was a friend of one of the convent girls. They met in the convent hostel secretly, following which he got two of his friends to the hostel. The men initially befriended the girls.
Then, the accused started bringing alcohol to the hostel, got the girls drunk and sexually abused them. The police are investigating whether the men received help from any others to enter the convent.
