Kerala horror: Migrant worker murders elderly woman, dumps dead body in well
In a horrifying incident reported from Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram, a 60-year-old housewife, identified as Manorama, was allegedly murdered by a migrant worker hailing from West Bengal. Her dead body was recovered disposed in a well near her residence.
In the time of the investigation, police found out that cash and jewellery kept at the victim's house were also missing.
The shocking incident took place on Sunday, 7th August, when the elderly woman was alone at her house in the city. The victim used to live with her husband, and the migrant worker used to work in a nearby residence.
The elderly woman was allegedly murdered when her husband, identified as Dinraj was not at home. Some of her jewellery and cash were missing from home. When police recovered the victim’s dead body from the well, her legs were found to be tied up.
Around five migrant workers were working nearby. Some locals in the area had seen two of them talking over the phone near Manorama's residence for the past few days. The murder has shocked residents in the area.
Police have started an investigation and efforts are on to trace and arrest the person responsible.
