Kerala: 'Drishyam' style murder, man kills brother; buries him in backyard

In a murder case much the same to that portrayed in the bollywood movie ‘Drishyam’, a man was murdered by his younger brother and the corpse buried in the backyard of their residence in Kerala’s Kollam.

The incident took place in 2018, The murder has surfaced only now after a relative raised suspicion about the disappearance of the man, who is identified as Shaji Peter, and alerted the cops.

In the time of Onam in 2018, Shaji Peter came back to his ancestral home to see his family during the festive time. He had been away from home for quite some time. Shaji allegedly misbehaved with his younger brother’s wife, which is believed to be the reason behind the killing.

In the fight that took place, Sajin beat his brother to death. With the help of his mother and wife, he secretly buried the body in the backyard of their home in Eroor in Kollam.

The family did not uncover anything about the matter to any individual. They said that Shaji was working in Malappuram district to those who inquired about the latter.

The victim’s family kept this hidden for two and a half years. The Kerala police have now found out the truth following their probe. The dead body was found on Wednesday. The top of the body was sheeted and concreted to fend off smell. The police and forensic team have also recovered a sack and bone.

Sajin Peter, his mother Ponnamma and wife Arya have been taken into police custody.
