Karnataka: Father repeatedly rapes two daughters, assaults them with rods over minor issues

In yet another appalling incident reported from Karnataka’s Mangaluru, a 42-year-old man alllegedly raped his two daughter multiple times over the past few years. After a compliant, the man was taken into police custody on Tuesday.

According to reports, earlier on 2nd June, the accused burst out in anger after his wife added less spices to a dish. He allegedly verbally swore her and hurled a sewing machine at her. Following this , the woman, along with her son and daughters, left the house and went to her parents’ house , where they told about the incident.

According to a report by The Times of India, the younger daughter, who is a minor, alleged that her father had been sexually harassing her since 12th May. The elder daughter stated that their father had been raping her also for almost two years. The minor victim alleged that their father would beat them up with iron rod over trivial issues. Furthermore the victim alleged that the accused used to assault their mother and threatened to kill her.

”City police commissioner N Shashilumar said two cases have been booked against the accused. He has also been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act for raping his minor daughter,” the report said.

In another similar incident reported from Gujarat’s Bhavnagar district, a man allegedly raped his 19 year-old daughter many times over the past one year. The alleged crime came to be known earlier this month when the unmarried teen gave birth to a child at a hospital.

The teenage girl complained that she was not feeling well, after which she was taken to the Shihor government hospital, where she gave birth to a male child, leaving everyone in shock. Following that, she told what had happened to her. The hospital called the cops, following which a case was lodged and the accused was taken into custody.
