Indian Railways' big decision amid coronavirus fear, cancels 168 trains; see list
In view of coronavirus outbreak in the country, Indian Railways on Thursday announced to cancelled its 84 more trains between March 20 to March 31, officials told. According to the reports in ANI, the total number of cancelled trains has risen to 168.
“Indian Railways has cancelled 168 trains due to low occupancy in view of COVID19, from 20th March to 31st March,” ANI reported.

According to the reports of the Indian Express, “All passengers having tickets in cancelled trains are being informed about it individually. No cancellation fee will be taken for these trains. Passengers will get 100-per cent refund,” an official said.
This is the major decision that has been taken by Indian Railways after a number of positive cases of coronavirus cases have reported in India.
The trains that have been cancelled by Railways are Madgaon Express, LTT Nanded Express, Pune-Jabalpur Special, Tadoba Express, Mumbai-Aurangabad Jan Shatabdi Express, Indore-Khajuraho Express, Delhi-Jabalpur Shridham Super Fast Express, New Anand Vihar Terminal Gorakhpur Humsafar Express, and others.
Earlier on Wednesday night, the Indian Railways had cancelled 99 trains. Out of the total trains, 11 trains each cancelled by the Western Central Railway and Northern Railway while the South Central Railway and Northeast Frontier Railway cancelled 20 trains each on Wednesday. Southern Railway has cancelled 32 trains, and five were cancelled from East Central Railway.
Ahead of this decision, Railways on Tuesday also issued the set of guidelines to zonal railways for its catering staff stating that employees having fever, running nose or difficulty in breathing should not be deployed in the business of food handling on the Indian Railways.
