Hyderabad: 34-year-old fruit vendor beaten to death over Rs 10
Police on Thursday, arrested seven people for allegedly beating to death a 34-year-old fruit vendor after an argument over non-payment of Rs 10 in Hyderabad, Telangana.
As maintained by the police, accused MD Naseem, along with a juvenile offender, approached the victim, identified as Shakiv Ali, for purchasing fruits at Pragathi Nagar in Kukatpally locality.
The duo bought grapes and pineapple. While leaving, they paid Rs 20 to the vendor while he asked for Rs 30. An argument broke out between them when the victim insisted on the payment of the outstanding sum.
Naseem called his group of friends, who came rushing to spot. The group then brutally thrashed the victim. He was rushed to a near by Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, as per a report by The Times of India.
In a similar incident reported from Uttar Pradesh, a 25-year-old labourer was stabbed to death allegedly by a village mason in Muzaffarnagar on Wednesday after he asked him to pay his day’s wage of Rs 300.
According to the police, the accused allegedly stabbed the victim, identified as Salman Ahmed, with a pair of scissors when an argument flared up between them over the dues the latter had asked the former to pay.
Ahmed was taken to the district hospital. The medics there referred him to another hospital in Meerut. He succumbed on the way to Meerut. His body was sent for autopsy and a case was registered.
