Hyderabad: 2 policemen suspended after they were seen taking bribe from an auto trolley driver [Watch]
Two police personnel were suspended after they were seen taking pay-off from an auto driver in a video clip that was extensively posted on social media platforms. The suspension comes as the nationwide lockdown to curb the spread of deadly coronavirus, which has impacted almost 67,000 people in the country and killed over 2,200, moves into the seventh week.
In almost 44 second recording, two policemen identified as D Pancha Mukesh and B Suresh are seen taking pay-off from an auto trolley driver wearing a blue shirt. He gives the money to one of the policemen while the other is sitting on a bike. The constable who accepted the pay-off then sits on the motorbike and both of them push off.
It seems that, the video recorded on a mobile camera was shot near the Afzalgunj market of Telangana’s Hyderabad.
Hyderabad Police chief Anjani Kumar gave the order to instantly suspend the two constables as the video went rife. "Two police constables D Pancha Mukesh and B Suresh of Afzalgunj police station who were found indulging in act of Grave Misconduct have been suspended with immediate effect. Circle Inspector of Afzalganj police station has been given a Charge Memo for poor supervision and control," Kumar said.
