Husband kills wife using snake; found guilty in bizarre crime case
In what was a mindboggling incident of crime, an Additional Sessions court in Kollam on Monday pronounced the ruling in the shocking Uthra murder case where the accused, identified as Suraj, was found guilty. Uthra's husband Suraj was found guilty of the crime under Sections 302, 307, 328 and 201.
The quantum of punishment will be given out on Wednesday. The accused, Suraj, Uthra's husband, used a poisonous cobra to bite her twice, leading to her demise.
The investigating team carried out an assessment using a dummy and live snake in order to prove the same. On 7th May, 2020, Uthra was found dead because of a snakebite at her residence in Anchal in Kollam.
According to the police probe, Suraj planned this horrifying murder reckoning that using a snake would keep him away from any kind of suspicion. It was found that he had married Uthra for financial gains and in due course killed her with a pre-planned intention of the unfortunate crime.
The chargesheet of this astonishing murder case was registered on the 82nd day of Suraj's incarceration and the police investigation helped in the swift resolution of the ‘cobra murder’ mystery.
