Huge crowd at popular tourist spot in Goa amid worrying Covid surge, video goes viral
A massive crowd was seen at a tourist spot in Goa regardless of COVID-19 surge, in a clip that has been extensively shared on Twitter. The state of Goa has been seeing substantial number of tourists from late December as travellers arrived in the coastal state for the Christmas-New Year festival season.
The massive inrush of tourists, officials say, has led to the COVID-19 positivity rate, which went past 10 per cent on Sunday.
"This is a Royal welcome to the Covid wave. Mostly tourists," the Twitter user, who goes by the handle @Herman_Gomes, wrote.
The viral video displays hundreds of people walking on a road near West Goa’s Baga Beach.
