Gurugram engineer stalks woman, sexually harasses her
In yet another incident of crime against women reported from Gurugram, a man allegedly stalked a woman and made obscene gestures at her. The accused, who was inebriated at the time of incident, is an engineer employed at a private firm in Haryana's Manesar. Reportedly, the accused sexually harassed and molested the victim.
The woman is a resident of Uttar Pradesh and works at a private company. In her complaint, the woman said that she was sitting outside her rented accommodation with two of her colleagues when the accused walked towards them and passed inappropriate comments.
At first, the woman and her friends ignored the accused and did not respond. The woman, however, made an attempt to walk away from the area after the accused kept on making lewd remarks. He allegedly followed her and chased them while making smutty comments. When the woman objected, the accused allegedly molested her, The Times of India reported.
Following the inapt occurrence the victim approached the cops and registered a police complaint. On the Basis of the accusations made by the victim, the Manesar police charged the accused under Sections 354A (sexual harassment) and 354D (stalking).
SHO Rajiv Kumar of Manesar police station said that the accused was taken into police custody on Monday, right after the complaint was lodged and he was produced before a local court. He has been sent to judicial custody on Monday.
