Gujarat: Three men rape sanitation worker, post video of crime on internet
In an appalling incident reported from Gujarat’s Kumbharawad area, a 40-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by three men. The accused also made a video of the heinous crime and later shared it on social media.
According to reports, the incident took place on 1st April but bacame known on 19th May when the woman lodged a police complaint against the three accused – Rakesh Makwana, Dinesh Makwana and Kapil Chudasama - after coming to know that the video of the incident has gone rife on social media.
The victim, in her complaint, said that she worked as a sanitation worker at Kapil’s office, and the other two accused are his friends. On the day of the incident, while she was doing her work, the three accused shut the office door from inside and then took turns to sexually assault her. They recorded the act and threatened to share it on the internet if she told about the incident to anyone.
As per a report by The Times of India, the victim, after few days, left her job at Kapil’s office, following which the accused posted the video of the crime on social media. On 14th May, the video spread like wildfire and the woman found out about it. Thereafter, the woman decided to register a police complaint.
On Wednesday, the victim approached the Bhavnagar police with her complaint. The police, acting on the complaint, got into action and nabbed two accused -- Dinesh Makwana and Rakesh Makwana. Efforts are on to arrest Kapil Chudasama.
