Gangster serving life term takes wedding vows inside jail premises
The couple took wedding vows not in a wedding ground but inside jail premises. Isn’t sound interesting? But, it happens in Nabha jail on Friday. A gangster who was serving a life term in jail tied a nuptial knot.
A murder convict named Mohammed Wasim, the member of the Gagiga Khan gang, who was arrested for his involvement in the 2016 Yasir murder case, married a girl from his native town inside the jail, India Today reported.
There was a total of eight people who attended the wedding including the family members of both the bride and groom, TOI reports said.
The wedding ceremony took place on Friday at 9 am as per the Muslim traditions. Wasim, who is serving a life sentence was convicted for murder in 2010. To get married, he had earlier applied for parole which was turned down.
Later, his counsel sought permission from the court to allow the gangster to get married inside the jail premises if he cannot be released. Reportedly, the court gave a green signal to this proposal and Wasim was allowed to get married inside the jail in the presence of full security.
Several cases have been registered against Wasim, including a murder case. Earlier, police had given a negative report on Wasim’s parole.
Moreover, this is not the first case when a gangster gets married inside jail premises. Earlier, a gangster named Mandeep Singh, who is also serving life imprisonment in Nabha jail, tied knot after High Court allowed him to do so.
