Father performs black magic on minor daughter over business losses, kid dies

In a shocking incident coming in from Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore, a man was taken into police custody for performing a black magic on his minor daughter, aged 3, because of which the child lost her life.

As per the police, the father, identified as Venugopal, performed the rituals at his residence in Perareddypally village, believing that it would take away all the evil forces responsible for his business losses.

According to report by The News Minute, Venugopal had poured turmeric water on his daughter as part of the ritual. Police are also probing to see if the child’s mouth was stuffed with kumkum (red turmeric powder), resulting in her suffocation.

Police said, Venugopal had strangulated the minor with his bare hands. After things took a wrong turn, Venugopal’s elder daughter fled the house, crying. This alerted the neighbours, who rescued the 3-year-old child and took her to the hospital.

Since the kid’s condition was serious, she was shifted to a hospital in Chennai, but she died on Thursda, 16th June.

Atmakur Police Station sub-inspector, Shivshanker said, "Prima facie, there is no role of any godman in this incident. The father used to often tell his family that the Shani (Satern) is not good. Even on the day of the incident, he said the same line and then decided to do carry out the ritual to get rid of the ‘Shani’."

Following the death, a case was filed against Venugopal, under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. Venugopal, who was in the business of selling bricks, suffered losses, which he believed were due to ‘evil forces’.

So, Vinugopal reportedly carried out a ‘black magic ritual’ on his 3-year-old daughter, which he believed would drive the ‘evil forces’ away. However, she died while undergoing treatment and Venugopal was taken into police custody for murder.
