Father of two tries to kill woman for rejecting his marriage proposal
In a shocking incident, a 23-year-old married man tried to kill a woman after she refused to marry him in Delhi, police said on Monday.
Meanwhile, he has been arrested for allegedly opening fire at a woman in her home.
The accused identified as Karan, a resident of Haryana’s Sonipat district. According to the news agency, PTI reports, the accused man met the woman on a short video making app, Tik-Tok, which has been banned in India, around 10 months ago.
The man is already married and has two children. When the victim came to know the truth, she started ignoring the man, police said.
Karan’s friend Praveen, 22, has also been arrested in the connection with the case, the police said.
The victim woman is undergoing treatment.
Police received the information on Friday that a woman had been shot at by her one-sided lover and his friend.
"Police laid a trap at Goyla Dairy road, near Shyam Kunj Colony, Goyla village on Saturday and apprehended both the accused," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Santosh Kumar Meena said.
According to a police officer, the accused confessed that they had opened the fire at the woman in her house when she refused to marry him.
Three months ago, when the woman came to know about the marriage of the man, she started ignoring Karan and also her family started looking for a match.

Karan got annoyed over this and made a plan to kill her. He stole a bike from the Mohan Garden area in Delhi and also used a fake number plate, the DCP said.
He also got the country-made pistol from his friend Praveen.
On Friday, Karan barged into the house of a woman, along with his friend, and fired at her from point-blank range. After committing a crime, the two accused fled from the spot, the police said.
Police have nabbed the two accused and also recovered one country-mad pistol, three live cartridges, one empty cartridge, and a stolen bike from their possession.
