Delhi woman raped and murdered by 17-year-old minor, accused held

The Delhi Police have taken a 17-year-old boy into their custody for allegedly raping and murdering a woman in Delhi’s Dwarka area.

The dead body of the victim was recovered from a drain near garbage on 15th November. In the time of investigation on 17th November, the city police took the accused into their custody on charges of murder.

In the course of interrogation, the accused allegedly told the cops that he had also raped the victim. Further, the accused also told police that he strangled the woman and put her private parts on fire out of the fear of being caught, as per a report in ANI.

During the probe, the police publicized the victim’s picture that finally got to the victim's family. Police said they questioned at least 2,700 people during the course.

Police have now added on sections of rape to the case. However, the police are yet to receive the autopsy report.

Further investigations into the case are underway.

In another incident of crime brought to light from UP’s Ballia, a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two men in a village here, police said on Tuesday.

Both the accused have been taken into police custody.

According to the SHO, Gadwar police station, Durgeshwar Mishra, the minor victim had gone out to relieve herself on Monday when the two accused hailing from an adjacent village caught hold of her and allegedly raped her.

On the basis of a complaint filed by the victim’s father, an FIR has been registered against the accused, the SHO said.

The victim has been taken to the district hospital for medical analysis, the SHO added.
