Delhi: Two jawans sexual assault, misbehave with sisters near cantonment area

In an atrocious incident brought to light from the national capital, two sisters have accused two army jawans of sexual assault and misbehaviour with them in a restricted area near cantonment on Saturday.

The victims aged 24 and 25 told the police that they were taking a walk with their male friends when they were stopped by two men in uniform who told them that they come to a restricted area. The jawans then asked the two male friends of the women to go away from the spot. The two accused have been identified as Sandeep (28) and Neeraj Dhaka (29).


According to a report in The Times of India, after their male friends left the spot, the victims claim that the jawans forced themselves on them. While, one woman alleged she was sexually assaulted, her sister said she was molested by two jawans.

After sometime, the two male friends of the women came back to the spot and had an altercation with the jawans. After this, a brawl broke out between them and the two men beat-up the accused army jawans. At a subsequent time, police were alerted about the incident and all four of them were taken into police custody.

"We have registered a rape and molestation case. The two accused have been nabbed. The two worked as jawans in the Indian Army. The two women and their male friends failed to give adequate response when asked why they were roaming in the restricted area.

Furthermore, investigation is underway in the case," the report quoted Ingit Pratap Singh, DCP (South-West) as saying.
