Delhi shocker: Woman kidnaps infant for human sacrifice ritual to revive dead father
In a shocking incident reported from the national capital, a woman abducted a two-month-old baby to attempt a human sacrifice ritual in a bid to revive her dead father. The woman has been taken into police custody,and the boy has been rescued by the police.
On Thursday, an infant went missing from the Delhi’s Garhi area. A kidnapping case was registered, and an investigation launched.
The mother of the infant told police that the woman who kidnapped the boy met the family in Safdarjung Hospital and introduced herself as a member of an NGO. She followed them on the pretext of looking into the development of the infant, police said.
Later on the same day, the woman abducted the two-month-old baby.
As maintained by the police, the accused went in with the superstitious belief that by sacrificing a newborn, her dead father could be brought back to life.
Police used CCTV footage to trace and arrest the woman just in time and saved the newborn.
The accused woman has been identified as Shweta, aged 25. Further investigation into the matter is in progress.
