In a horrifying incident reported from the national capital, a woman was gang-raped by 25 men on 3rd May. The woman approached the cops nine days following the incident.
The victim, who works as a domestic help in Delhi, began living in Delhi approximately four years ago. The victim came in touch with a man, identified as Sagar on Facebook in January 2020 and the two swapped phone numbers.
After a while, Sagar allegedly made an offer of marriage to the woman and even offered to introduce her to his parents. The 23-year-old man then asked the victim to come to Hodal where she could meet his parents.
On 3rd May, the victim went to Hodal in order to meet Sagar. He then took her to a forest in Ramgarh village. Sagar's brother and a group of his friends were drinking alcohol in the forest.
When the woman arrived at the spot, the accused allegedly took turns to rape her. The following day, the victim was taken to a scrap dealer, identified as Akash. At this spot, the woman was allegedly gang raped by five men. When the victim's health condition worsened after continuous sexual assault, the five accused left her near the Badarpur border and fled.
On 12th May, the victim approached the Hassanpur police station and registered a complaint against the accused. The woman told the cops that there was a delay in lodging a complaint because she was not feeling well.
According to SHO Rajesh, they took Sagar into their custody on Friday and efforts are underway to trace the others. A case was registered against the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
