Delhi: 23-year-old man kills his roommates over flat rent
In a blood-curdling incident, a 23-year-old man allegedly killed his two roommates over rent payment in west Delhi’s Raghubir Nagar.
According to the police, the accused has been identified as Sakir, who had been staying with Ajam (45) and Amir Hasan (46) in a rented flat at Raghubir Nagar.
Their flat rent was Rs 4,000 per month. Reportedly, they were living there since 1994, the police said.
Murder Over Room Rent:
According to a report in the news agency PTI, Sakir went to his village for four months due to coronavirus and returned to his rented house in Delhi 15 days back.
Sakir's roommates started pressurizing him to pay the rent even for four-month when he was not there. This conversation turned into heated arguments. Sakir got offended after his roommates abused him and decided to take revenge from them.
On the intervening night of August 30-31, when Sakir’s roommates were sleeping, he killed them with a knife and hid the weapon and fled from the spot, the police added.
The accused returned to his village in Uttar Pradesh’ Amroha after murdering his flatmates.
However, a team of Delhi police arrested him.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Deepak Purohit, the police received a call about the incident and on reaching the spot, police found both Ajam and Amir dead with multiple stab injuries.
The spot was inspected by the crime team as well as the Forensic Science Laboratory team from Rohini.
Purohit also said that the investigation was started after a case was registered at Khayala police station. Police said that all the three men had been engaged in the sale of garlic in nearby areas, he added.
Sakir was nabbed from his village in Uttar Pradesh’ Amroha.
