A 62-year-old doctor, who had tested positive for Covid-19, died in Madhya Peadesh’s Indore on Thursday, taking the total number of death related to coronavirus in Indore district to 22, an official stated.
Indore’s chief medical and health officer, Dr Praveen Jadia, stated that the victim, who was a physician, took his final breath this morning at a private hospital. "It appears that he had come in contact with a coronavirus patient during treatment. We are trying to trace the source of infection," he said.
This is in all likelihood the first case of a doctor succumbing to Covid-19 in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The MGM College had on Wednesday issued a list of coronavirus patient, in which the doctor’s name had been mentioned.
He was symptomatic, but the officials are yet to hunt down the coronavirus patient he had come in contact with, said official.
In the meantime, a purported video clip is doing rounds in the internet in which the doctor is seen sitting with his family and claiming that he is absolutely in good physical condition.
