Chhattisgarh Shocker: Two minor girls gang-raped by 8 youths including cousin
In a barbaric incident, two minor sisters have been brutally gang-raped by eight youths, including a cousin in the Palari region of Chhattisgarh’s Baloda Bazar district.
The horrifying incident took place on May 31 but came to light on Wednesday evening when one of the survivors gathered courage and dialed a women helpline number after being blackmailed by the accused cousin and other youths for almost two months. As per the reports, the accused also recorded a video of the heinous incident.
Boys threatened minor girls:
According to the police, the accused boys spotted the minor girls (14 and 16) when they were going out secretly with their two male friends on a motorcycle at around 11:30 pm on May 31. The youths were waiting on the village outskirts for their return. Reportedly, the minor girls returned at around 2 am and then they were intercepted by the accused.
After then, the accused cousin brother hurled abuses at the male friends of the girl for taking them out and later, thrashed all the four victims. Then, they chased away the boys from the spot and threatened the girls by saying that they would inform their family about their night out. When both sisters pleaded them, they allegedly dragged them to the roadside and sexually assaulted the minor girls for two hours.
The accused youth also filmed the act on a mobile phone.
According to a report of The Times of India, Baloda Bazar Superintendent of Police Kalyan Elsela told, “The area was too deserted for the screams to reach out to residents. The girls were left abandoned in the wee hours to get up and walk down to their home.”
After receiving the inputs about the rape incident, police immediately swung into the action and arrest 11 people, including two minors. They have been booked under the relevant section of the Indian Penal Code and POCSO Act.
