Chhattisgarh Horror: 20-year-old woman stabbed 51 times
In a horrifying incident reported from Chhattisgarh’s Korba, a 20-year-old woman was killed after she was stabbed to death. The autopsy report of the deceased has revealed that she was stabbed more than 51 times by a sharp weapon on different parts of her body.
The police reckons it to be a case of a 'love triangle' and are on the hunt for the prime suspect in the case, identified as Shahbaz Khan.
On Saturday, the woman, identified as Neel Kusum Panna, was alone at home, while the rest of the family had gone out. The woman is a resident of the Pump House colony of South Eastern Coalfields Limited in Korba.
When the brother entered the house, he saw his sister lying in a pool of blood and her mouth was covered with a pillow. The victim’s brother without further ado notified the rest of the family members.
On getting the information, the police arrived at the crime scene. The woman was taken to a hospital where she was declared dead on arrival. Following the autopsy, the report mentioned that the woman was stabbed 51 times in her chest, neck, face and back. The autopsy further revealed that the woman would have struggled against the killer, which led to injuries to her hands as well.
Superintendent of Police Vishwa Deepak Tripathi and city Kotwali in-charge inspector Roopak Sharma also arrived at the crime scene. They found blood-stained floor, an air ticket from Ahmedabad to Raipur in the name Shahbaz Khan, a bus ticket from Raipur to Bilaspur, a shirt and other items from the scene. However, murder weapon is yet to be found.
According to Inspector Rupak Sharma, Neel Kusum and Shahbaz Khan were having an affair as they used to talk over the phone for hours. Apart from Shahbaz, Neel Kusum used to talk regularly with another man from Jashpur.
The initial probe uncovered that Neel Kusum did not want to talk to Shahbaz Khan for a long time, but he used to call her repeatedly. Shahbaz Khan, a resident of Jashpur district, had been working in Gujarat for some time.
Inspector Rupak Sharma said that two years back, Neel Kusum was studying in Madanpur village of the district. She used to come to Korba from time to time by a private bus, on which Shahbaz Khan was a helper. They got to know one another during their journey, which evolved into a love affair.
Furthermore, Inspector Rupak Sharma said that the search is underway to trace and arrest Shahbaz Khan and three police teams have been set up for the same. Further investigation into the matter is in progress.
