Chennai: 40-year-old man sets wife, stepchildren ablaze in their sleep; accuse absconding
A horrific news was reported from Chennai where a 40-year-old man set her wife and two stepchildren at ablaze in their house while they were sleeping. The incident took place during the wee hours on Sunday in Maduravoyal neighbourhood in West Chennai.
As per reports, neighbours woke upto the screams of Koresha Begum and her children and found their house was on fire. On seeing this they immediately rushed to their help and doused of the fire. Then they rushed all three Begum her son (21) and daughter (13) to Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital (KMCH) where the mother and son succumbed to their injuries as they had 95 per cent burn injuries. While her daughter survived is currently being treated.
According to the police, the accuse is identified has Makbul Ali, Begum’s second husband. The couple here worked at a footwear manufacturing factory and often engaged in fights and Makbul was alcoholic. He would often trouble Begy by asking money to buy liquor, however, when she used to refuse he would pick up a fight.
Same happened on Saturday when Makbul started fighting, Begum prevented Ali to enter the house, this filled Makbul with anger. When he returned at around 2 am he noticed a window of the house was open. He then threw thinner on all three of them and then set them on fire.
Currently, police have not been able to trace the accuse however they have divided their team to nab the accuse.
