Assailant enters engineer's house, shoots him dead, crime caught on camera

In a horrifying incident of murder reported from Pune’s Hajipur, a software engineer was allegedly shot dead inside his own house by an unknown person. The whole incident of crime was captured on the CCTV camera installed in the man’s residence.

The victim has been identified as Suman Shekhar. Emlpoyed at a private firm in Pune, the victim had been working from home for the past five months. His wife had gone to visit her parents when the infortunate incident happened.

A food delivery man went to the engineer’s house in the morning and left the packet outside. He, however, grew doubtfull when he saw the morning parcel still lying at the same place where he had left it.

The food delivery man then went to the second floor- where Shekhar lived- and saw his dead body. He alerted the cops and a team consisting of SDPO Sadar Hajipur Raghav Dayal arrived at the spot. On examining the CCTV footage, the police saw the assailant who murdered Shekhar within 20 seconds and fled the spot.

In the footage, a man holding a phone could be seen inside the house. The man, who is wearing a cap, seems to be looking for the victim in different rooms. Reportedly, Shekhar’s elder brother had also been killed about two years ago. An investigation into the case has been started.
