Rajasthan: Ashok Gehlot Govt to provide tablets with free internet connection to meritorious students
Rajasthan Government will distribute smart tablets with free internet for three years to bright students studying in schools.
The state government will select 93 thousand students based on their grades in eighth, tenth, and twelfth grades and provide them with tablets with three years of free internet.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, on October 16, announced the scheme during the inaugural ceremony of Rajiv Gandhi Rural Olympic Games at SMS Stadium in Jaipur. He further said that his government had distributed laptops to bright students because of which students got an IT education.
CM Gehot added that the Vasundhara Raje-led BJP government had discontinued the scheme, but his government is starting the scheme again for the interest of the youth. He asserted that in the last three years, students have not been distributed tablets due to COVID-19 pandemic, but this year, about 93,000 students will be benefitted.
Earlier, the Gehlot-led government announced to provide free smartphone with free internet connection for three years to women (registered as family heads under the Chiranjeevi scheme) under the Mukhyamantri Digital Seva Yojana 2022.
