Andhra Pradesh: Woman, her daughter allegedly commits suicide after inebriated husband thrashed them
A women and her daughter reportedly killed themselves on Monday at their house in Andhra Pradesh’s Chitoor district.
The women ended her life along with her daughter after her inebriated husband came back home and beat up the two.
Liquor shops reopened in the state of Andhra Pradesh on Monday following the 40-days nationwide lockdown.
Jagadha, the young daughter of the accused Chikalingam and his spouse Nandini, ended their lives by hanging themselves at their house, said police.
Chikalingam on Monday afternoon came back home in a drunken state which led to a quarrel after which the women and her daughter hung themselves.
On Monday, Chittor district witnessed a protest by women against opening of alcohol stores following which the police closed down three such vends.
The YSR Congress government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had increased liquor price by 25% to curb the sale and crowding ahead of opening the shop but it had very little impact on the ground as the state saw almost over Rs 50 crore sail of liquor.
