Andhra Pradesh horror: Minor girl allegedly confined, raped by 10 men for several days
In a gruesome incident that has unearthed from the state of Andhra Pradesh, a 16 year-old girl from a Dalit community was allegedly drugged and raped by 10 men for several days after being illegally confined in a house.
The victim resident of Rajahmundry district. On 23rd June, Anitha, a relative of the minor, took her away from her family in an auto rickshaw with seven men as co-passengers on the pretext of employment at a shop. She was taken to a house where the accused allegedly assaulted her for many days after dragging her every day, police said.
The News Minute reported that the minor’s mother had lodged a missing complaint with the Korukonda police station on 12th July when should couldn’t contact her daughter. On 15th July, the victim returned home. Three days later on 18th July, the family approached the police alleging that she was sexually assaulted and asked the police to revise the FIR, as maintained by TSN Rao, the North Zone DSP.
The SP stated that the minor girl has been admitted to a hospital and her condition is said to be stable. Police have ordered her medical examination to verify the crime.
According to the Police, Anitha went to her village after dropping the girl at the house on 23rd June. She is involved in human trafficking but the minor’s family was not aware of it.
Previously, police recorded 10 arrests in connection with the case, while the eleventh accused is still at large. They have been booked for rape under the Indian Penal Code, the POCSO Act and the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
