2 newborns die after warmer overheats in Rajasthan Government Hospital
In a tragic incident, two infants died due to overheating in a warmer in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of a government hospital in the Bhilwara district, Rajasthan.
The incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday, October 26 at the Mother and Child hospital of the Mahatma Gandhi (MG) government hospital.
According to police, the baby girl (21-day-old) died soon after the tragic incident. The baby boy died on October 27. The girl was underweight and was admitted to NICU on October 5.
The services of two contractual nurses, who were on duty at the time of the incident, were terminated with immediate effect. An inquiry committee has also been formed by the hospital to know the actual cause of the incident.
The hospital authorities took action after the ruckus by the family members of the victim's newborns.
