15-year-old girl gangraped by four neighbours in front of younger brother

In yet another harrowing incident brought to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar, the state police have taken three individuals into their custody for allegedly gang-raping a 15-year-old girl before the very eyes of her younger brother.

As stated by a report in The Times of India, the horrific incident happened on Saturday. The parents of the kids had gone out for a family occasion in another village when a neighbour barged into their abode and noticed the kids sleeping, the complaint registered by the girl’s father said. The accused pointed a gun at the victim and opened the door to let his friends inside.

The accused individuals then raped the victim while holding her younger brother, aged 12, at gunpoint, threatening to kill him if he made any noise. They also recorded a video of the crime and threatened the girl that they would upload it on the internet if she complained.

Later, the brother called their parents who came rushing back and saw their daughter lying unconscious. As maintained by the victim's father, when they confronted the parents of the accused, they were threatened with getting killed if they took the matter further.

The medical report of the victim has established rape, the police said. "An FIR was registered on the basis of the complaint. The girl's medical examination was done. Five teams have been formed for investigation," the police said.

According to police the accused individuals managed to run away after the incident but three of them have been arrested. Search operation is underway to trace the fourth accused.

The police have pressed charges against the three arrested accused for gang rape, house trespass, criminal intimidation and under sections of the POCSO Act.
