India's Anish Sood wins Independent Music Awards in New York
The Independent Music Awards honors and celebrates the most exceptional talent and indie label talent from around the world. This time, electronic music artiste and music producer Anish Sood from India became the first Indian artiste to win the Best Electronica/Dance Single at the 16th Annual Independent Music Awards (IMA) held at the historic Lincoln Center in New York.

The gala honoured various international music artistes including Nik West, Reeve Carney, Esprit D'Air, Eh440, Karim Baggili, Sofia Rei, Air Traffic Controller, John McEuen, Rozina Pátkai, Jake La Botz, and The Bankesters at Lincoln Center's David Rubenstein Atrium.

"I'm truly honoured to win an IMA. I think it's a fantastic global platform for recognising independent music from around the world and I'm proud to be featured amongst an amazing list of artists", says Sood, who won the award for his single "Starry night" featuring feat. Zach Sorgen and Kelechi.
The winning projects were selected by many artists including musicians, bands and industry judging panel like Tom Waits who is an American singer-songwriters Kathleen Brennan, Slayer, Bakithi Kumalo, Michael W. Smith, Amy Lee from the band Evanescence, Sepultura, and Fiona Joy along with press and talent buyers from the United States of Americas, Europe as well as Pacific Rim.

Artistes honured at the extravaganza hailed from countries like Austria, Australia, Argentina, Belgium, Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Spain, Great Britain, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Pakistan, Portugal, Russia and the United States.
