Harnaaz Sandhu wins Miss Universe title after 21 years; interesting details to know about her
Harnaaz Sandhu defeated 79 other contestants- including runner-up Miss Paraguay Nadia Ferreira and second runner-up Miss South Africa Lalela Mswane and won the title Miss Universe 2021. She brought home the crown, two decades after Lara Dutta won the title in 2000.
Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu has made the entire country proud by winning the title, held in Eilat, Israel.
A video of Miss Sandhu wearing the crown and then celebrating her victory with her fellow contestants have gone viral on social media. The moment her name was declared as the winner, Harnaaz broke down with tears of joy. She could also be seen joining her hands in gratitude.
After winning the Miss Universe title, she screamed, “Chakh De Fatte India”.

Harnaaz Sandhu hails from Chandigarh where she finished her schooling and college. She is a model and has been in the fashion industry for the past few years. She also appeared in films like Bai Ji Kuttange and Yaara Diyan Poo Baran. She is a strong advocate for women’s rights and got her inspiration from Priyanka Chopra.
The 21-year-old also loves to do yoga, dancing, cooking, horse riding, and playing chess.
She had also won some pageantry as a teenager like Miss Chandigarh 2017 and Miss Max Emerging Star India 2018.
After winning the title of Femina Miss India Punjab 2019, Harnaaz Sandhu participated in Femina Miss India.
Apart from representing Miss Universe title, she is pursuing her master’s degree in public administration. She has strong views on women’s rights, Global Warming, and climate change.
