‘An Unstoppable Force’: Kantara surpasses Rs 400 crore mark worldwide; beats KGF Chapter 2 in Karnataka
Kannada blockbuster 'Kantara' smashed box office records on Tuesday and surpassed the Rs 400-crore mark in gross collection worldwide. With this, the drama-thriller flick has become the second Kannada film ever to do so.
Interestingly, that’s not the only notch in its belt. 'Kantara', over the weekend, became the highest-grossing film ever in Karnataka.
Announcing the good news, trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted that the flick had surpassed the Rs 400-crore mark globally, that too within two months in the gross collection. He also posted a territory-wise breakdown of the film’s earnings.
Directed by Rishab Shetty, the drama-thriller was a surprise success. Made on a modest budget of ₹15 crore nobody expected that the regional film could even reach the 100-cr mark.
