Students showcase their artistic skills ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi

Nagaur: With just four days to go for Ganesh Chaturthi, students are bursting with enthusiasm. The excitement is palpable in schools, where students are busy making paintings of Lord Ganesha.

On Tuesday, Sharda Bal Niketan Vidyalaya organised a painting competition where students from Class 12th showcased their artistic skills. The students created vibrant and colourful paintings of Lord Ganesha, depicting his various forms and stories.

Kangna Joshi, a Class 12th student, said that she would celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi with great fervour this year. "We will not only install the idol at home but also in our neighbourhood. We are already preparing for it," she said.

Antara Jangid, another student, expressed concern over the use of plaster of Paris to make Ganesha idols. "It's not only harmful to the environment but also not suitable for worship. Idols made of clay are considered more auspicious," she said.

Paridhi Soni, a science student, was excited about the festival. "We celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi every year, but we often ignore the rituals and traditions associated with it. We should focus on preserving our cultural heritage," she said.

The school's principal, Kamla Charan, highlighted the significance of Ganesh Chaturthi, while music teacher, Meharaj Rao, narrated stories related to Lord Ganesha.

The students also presented devotional songs and bhajans, adding to the festive atmosphere.

In another event, a painting competition was organized in the classroom, where students created colourful and innovative paintings of Lord Ganesha.

The school's vibrant atmosphere was a testament to the excitement and enthusiasm of the students as they looked forward to celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi.
