There is so much barbarity in the country against women that just listening to them would make your skin crawl. Unfortunately, the law and order of the country has not been able to keep up with the times and recognise these crimes against women. Among these crimes is one which is often overlooked- Female Genital Mutilation.

Female genital mutilation (FGM) includes procedures that intentionally alter or cause injury to the female genital organs for non-medical reasons. They can result in a lot of bleeding and complications later in life. But we hardly talk about it. Fortunately, an artist Medha Srivastava has deviated from the norm and raised her voice against it. In her film about this crime, she has drawn a heart-wrenching story of the pain in a woman’s life when she is subjected to this trauma.

It is time that we talk about real issues that plague the lives of women everywhere. No more silence. No more fear.
