Shwetambar Jain Community Celebrates Parushan Parv with Great Enthusiasm

Jagdalpur: The Shwetambar Jain community in Jagdalpur celebrated the Parushan Parv with great enthusiasm and devotion. The festival, which began on August 31, concluded on September 7 with various religious activities and cultural programs.

The community organized a series of events, including puja, paath, bhakti, and tapasya, at the Shri Dharmnath Jin Temple in Balaaji Ward. The events were led by Sadhvi Shri Shraddhanvita Shri Ji and other revered Jain saints.


During the eight-day festival, devotees participated in various activities, including daily puja, paath, and japa. The community also organized a grand aarti and cultural programs every evening.

The festival is considered one of the most important events in the Jain calendar, and the community came together to celebrate it with great fervour. The devotees sought forgiveness for their past mistakes and prayed for world peace and harmony.

The community also observed a fast for eight days, with 22 devotees completing the entire fast. Several others observed partial fasts, including akshay nidhi, samavasaran, and vijay kashaya.

The festival concluded on September 7 with the celebration of Samvatsari, a day of forgiveness and self-reflection. The community came together to seek forgiveness from each other and the universe.

The Parushan Parv is an important festival in the Jain calendar, and the Shwetambar Jain community in Jagdalpur celebrated it with great enthusiasm and devotion.
