Sharad Navratri to Begin from October 3

Jodhpur: The festive season of Sharad Navratri is just around the corner, and preparations are in full swing across the country. With the culmination of Shradh Paksha, the nine-day worship of Goddess Durga will commence on October 3. The idols of the goddess will be installed, and devotees will offer prayers for nine consecutive days.

This year, Sharad Navratri will be celebrated from October 3 to 12. The last three days of the festival hold great significance, with Durga Saptami, Ashtami, and Navami being the most auspicious days. During this period, many temples in the city will organize Garba events, and devotees have already started preparing for the festivities.

In Hindu mythology, Navratri is a significant festival, with four Navratris occurring throughout the year. The Chaitra and Sharad Navratri are considered the most important ones. During these nine days, Goddess Durga is worshipped in her nine forms, known as Navdurga.

Ghat Sthapana Timings

According to the Panchang, the auspicious time for Ghat Sthapana is between 6:15 am and 7:22 am on October 3. Devotees will have a window of 1 hour and 6 minutes to perform the ritual. Alternatively, they can also perform the ritual during the Abhijeet Muhurat, which falls between 11:46 am and 12:33 pm, with a duration of 47 minutes.

Nine Days of Worship

During the nine days of Navratri, Goddess Durga will be worshipped in different forms:

* Day 1: Maa Shailputri (Pratipada Tithi)
* Day 2: Maa Brahmacharini (Dwitiya)
* Day 3: Maa Chandraghanta (Tritiya)
* Day 4: Maa Kushmanda (Chaturthi)
* Day 5: Maa Skandamata (Panchami)
* Day 6: Maa Katyayani (Shashthi)
* Day 7: Maa Kalaratri (Saptami)
* Day 8: Maa Mahagauri (Ashtami)
* Day 9: Maa Mahanavami (Navami)

The festival will culminate on the tenth day, Vijayadashami, which will be celebrated with great fervour.
