Raksha Bandhan 2024

Bhilwara: This year, Raksha Bandhan and the last Monday of Sawan month coincide on the same day, bringing a special blessing from Lord Shiva to brothers and sisters. However, the festival will also be marked by the influence of Bhadra, which is considered inauspicious. The auspicious time for tying rakhi will begin at 1:33 pm.

According to Pandit Ashok Vyas, this Raksha Bandhan will be accompanied by three rare astrological combinations, including Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga, which will bring prosperity and good fortune. The Shobhna Yoga will prevail throughout the day, and the Ravi Yoga will also be present from 5:53 am to 8:10 am. The presence of Shravan Nakshatra on this day will add to the significance of the festival.

It is worth noting that the Bhadra period will last from 12:30 pm to 1:33 pm, during which time the rakhi-tying ceremony should not be performed.

As Raksha Bandhan approaches, the markets are filled with excitement and enthusiasm. Women and girls are busy selecting rakhis for their brothers, while brothers are buying gifts for their sisters. Many companies are offering special discounts on the occasion, which is being availed by the youth. Apart from rakhis, other items like coconuts and golis are also in high demand.

The festival of Raksha Bandhan celebrates the special bond between brothers and sisters, and this year, it is expected to be even more special with the rare astrological combinations and the blessings of Lord Shiva.
