In photos: Glastonbury festival 2017 is one big party
Glastonbury Festival, the world’s largest greenfield festival, runs across five days every year in Somerset, South West England.
Since its inception in 1971 by Michael Eavis, the festival has come a long way, becoming a key part of British pop culture. Not only is it an eagerly awaited event for music lovers all over the world, it also showcases other performing arts such as dance, comedy, circus and theatre. In addition, the event has come to represent a nostalgic return to hippie culture and summer festivals, with its scale now at par with international music events such as Coachella and Tomorrowland.
The 2017 festival, currently on till 26 June, is already sold out, with as many as 1,75,000 people expected to attend. Some of the artists in this year’s line-up include the Foo Fighters, Radiohead, Ed Sheeran, Lorde and Solange. These are some of the best pictures from this year's event:
