Devotees Celebrate Janmashtami with Fervour at Dwarakadhish Temple
Rajsamand (Rajasthan): The Dwarakadhish Temple in Rajsamand was abuzz with devotees on Monday, as they celebrated the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami with great fervour and enthusiasm. The temple, managed by the Shri Pushtimargiya Tirtha Peeth Pranayaas, witnessed a huge gathering of devotees who came to pay their respects to Lord Krishna on his birthday.
The day began with the Panchamrit Snan of Lord Dwarakadhish, which was performed by Tirtha Peeth Narayana Goswami, Dr. Vagish Kumar, and Vedant Bava. The deity was bathed in a mixture of milk, curd, ghee, sugar, and honey, followed by a grand Shringar ceremony. The Lord was adorned with a white kulfi, Kesari dor, and a two-toned throne. The devotees were then allowed to have a glimpse of the Lord in all his glory.
The temple premises were filled with the sweet sounds of devotional songs and the aroma of traditional sweets wafted through the air. The devotees were seen dancing and singing in joy, as they celebrated the birth of Lord Krishna. The temple administration had made elaborate arrangements for the devotees, including the deployment of a large police force to ensure the safety and security of the pilgrims.
As the night fell, the temple premises came alive with the sound of conch shells, drums, and other traditional instruments. The devotees gathered around the temple to witness the Jhulan Yatra, a ritual in which the Lord is placed on a swing and devotees take turns to swing him. The atmosphere was electric, with devotees chanting "Nand Ghar Anand Bhayo, Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki" and other devotional slogans.
The temple administration had also made arrangements for the safety and security of the devotees, with a large police force deployed in and around the temple premises. The devotees were seen taking selfies and sharing their experiences on social media, as they celebrated the joyous occasion of Janmashtami.
The celebrations continued till late in the night, with the devotees finally retiring to their homes, carrying with them the memories of a lifetime. The Dwarakadhish Temple had once again lived up to its reputation as a premier pilgrimage destination, and the devotees had experienced the true essence of Janmashtami.
